Deborah True was born in London. She studied Visual Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and at Camberwell College of Arts, where she was awarded the Professor Bartolomeu Dos Santos Printmaking Prize. She is a practising artist whose interests lie in both personal and general memory and in the way the two become interwoven to produce a rich and complex fabric. Her recent installations have used textiles as a metaphor for conveying her ideas, embodying both the physical and abstract aspects of inheritance. She has works in both the Camberwell and Tate Collections. Currently a Lecturer at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
